Adding/Removing feed items
Feed items
Among with general feed information (feed title, short description etc.), every feed contains one or more items. Each item can be thought of as a separate news article or announcement.
Adding a new item to the feed
To add a new item to RSS feed click Add item toolbar button, choose Add item from the Edit menu or hit Ctrl+Shift+N keyboard shortcut.
Removing an item
To remove selected item from the feed click Remove item toolbar button, choose Remove item from the Edit menu or hit Ctrl+Shift+R keyboard shortcut.
Item editing
To edit a particular item, select it in the left treeview. According to the RSS specification, every feed item must contain some required properties:
- Title - item's title, a headline for the item's content. For example, a title of a news article which describes the article's topic in short.
- Description - A feed item represents a "story" -- much like a story in a newspaper or magazine; if so its description is a synopsis of the story. An item may also be complete in itself.
- Link - The URL for the webpage, which corresponds to the article. Feed reading software will typically display the URL as a clickable link, and open the webpage when this link is clicked.
- Pub date - The date and time when the item is published. NOTE: some feed reading software may choose not to display a feed item until its PubDate has arrived.
