I recently ran into this problem where users left the default.aspx page went to another page and then clicked the back button and got a web page expired error. Here is how I fixed the issue, you will need the source code. Goto ForumPage.cs to the OnInit event and comment out this code line Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache);. I thought I would pass this information onto others.

This code prevents the page form caching in the browser. So removing this line is not recommended.

Is there anyway to fix this? We experience this alot as well and would love to see a fix/workaround.
