Multi-network switcher utility

Hello,
I recently noticed an interesting issue with IP addresses. My laptop connects to a network at home (wired), and gets an IP address 192.168.1.a; it also connects (wired) to my work, and gets an IP address 192.168.1.b. As both networks use DHCP, the procedure is that I have to connect them before switching profiles in NPS.
And this is the problem: when I connect my laptop at work, it initially connects with the same IP address as at home (192.168.1.a); sometimes causing an IP address conflict with another computer in the network. As a workaround, at home I'm now using the subnet 192.168.2.x. But is there a way of connecting to multiple networks that have the same subnet without causing an IP conflict (perhaps by performing a "disconnect")? If so, what is the procedure?
Thanks!
Jörg

If both networks use DHCP all you have to do is activate a profile, when a DHCP profile is activate, after changing NIC settings it also renews the dhcp-lease, so the conflict will go away after activating a profile. Was that helpful?

Yes, I know that the conflict doesn't last very long if one activates the new profile immediately. However, our work network is quite secure, and every conflict is immediately checked out (I had the system adminstrator visit me ). Currently, I activate the profile prior to plugging in the network cable, and then I activate it a second time after plugging in the cable. I'm also thinking of simply adding a new profile with fixed settings (not DHCP) that are outside any subnet.
Activating this profile would clear all settings. But which IP addresses would be recommended for this purpose (I'm thinking 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0)?
