We do, but on a very irregular basis. Please submit a support ticket on our main site.

When creating a user, forum or topic, the Ver:7.2.12.0 is not creating an ID number to store in the database.
The tables are set not to accept a null for this value.
No admin user was created either.

Any ideas?

Email template for closed tickets?

There's an email template for new tickets. And there's an email template for ticket updates. What about a template for ticket closures? One thing we're considering are surveys. If there was a unique closing email to the end user, we'd have a quick way of distributing the URL of the survey. There's probably some other benefit to a separate email for closed tickets, but the survey comes to mind immediately.

Thanks everyone.

Apologies if this has already posted, if it has can you please point me in the right direction.
I’ve been evaluating, the Forum for the past few weeks and I must say it’s exactly what I was looking for. I had no problems in installing it on our internal development webserver & connecting this with an existing MS SQL membership etc.
My issue is, doesn’t the evaluation edition, port across on to a live server?
My existing website is written in VB (and works on the development server)
I’m getting the following error, please attached .gif

Could someone please assist me with this, I'd be very gratefull. If you need more information, please just let me know

Many Thanks

We're starting to beta test our new achievements functionality in the next release of the Forum.

Achievement is a reward user gets for some activity. The ultimate purpose is to make user more engaged in the forums.

We'll start with six basic achievements:

  • Welcome Aboard Write at least one message
  • Topic Starter Start at least one topic
  • Selfish Tried to upvote your own post
  • I've got something to say Write 100 messages
  • Lots of free time Write 1000 messages
  • Lonely Write a message on a Friday night

For now we just need to test the technical aspect of it.

Here are some things we plan to do in the nearest future:

1. Make more sophisticated and interesting achievements, because the first six are way easy to get.
2. Add some competitive elements (like top users lists) and maybe reword users with something real, for example granting limited moderator privileges for the most established users or something.

Please let me know, what you think and, most importantly, what ideas for achievements do you have.

After looking at the source and doing some googling, I had an incorrectly formatted <system.net><mailSettings><smtp from="test"> in my web.config that was being used when a MailMessage was being created.

Issue with Email Templates

I just got the system up and running, so most everything is defaults. However, it appears the the #Subject# token in the email template references another token called #Ticket# (upon the generation of a new ticket). Well, the #Ticket# token is not parsing correctly or something, so the token is is showing up in the subject line of new tickets. Here is what the subject line looked like for a test ticket in several email clients.

#Ticket#6: this is a test

History: I upgraded from the demo version to the entry level version of the helpdesk product. That was pretty much it.

Any help would be great.
Thanks,

Eric

Hi guys, this feature is still under development, sorry that it took so long. It will hopefully make it in one of the next releases.
