By default your hosted help desk will have an URL like this: "https://MyCompany.jitbit.com/" or "https://MyCompany.jitbit.com/helpdesk".
But you can also use a custom domain for your helpdesk, like this: "http://support.domain.com".
To set up a custom domain for your helpdesk follow these steps:
- Log in to your hosted helpdesk and set up a custom domain in the admin panel.
- Adjust your domain's DNS settings. Add a CNAME record, that will point to the following hostname: jitbit.com
- You might want to add a test record to your local "hosts" file that points to our IP and test everything before actually editing your DNS zone file
You're all set now. Restart your browser and start using the helpdesk under a custom domain.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to use SSL (https-prefix) with a custom domain. Our SSL_certificate is valid for "*.jitbit.com" domains only, so you have to purchase your own SSL-certificate.
