Minimal server requirements

Jitbit requires .NET 10 installed on your server (the .NET hosting bundle for Windows). That is the only prerequisite -- all other libraries and dependencies ship with the app. Check our full system requirements page for details.

You will also need a Microsoft SQL Server instance. The free "Express" edition works perfectly well for most teams. We recommend SQL Server 2017 or above, and SQL Server runs natively on Linux too.

Authentication and Active Directory

Jitbit Helpdesk supports both Windows-integrated authentication and forms-based authentication. With Windows-integrated auth, your users sign in automatically using their domain credentials -- no extra username or password required. This is especially valuable for on-premises deployments in corporate environments. We also support Active Directory integration with our SaaS version.
