Knowledge Base Search
The Knowledge Base search page lets users search KB articles by keyword, tags, date, and more. Results respect category permissions, so users only see articles they have access to.
To get here, type in the search box on the KB home page and press Enter - or click the magnifying-glass icon to jump straight to the full search page. The search box in the KB category sidebar works too.
Simple search
Type a keyword (at least 3 characters) and hit Search. Jitbit searches article titles and bodies using full-text search. If you have AI features enabled, it also runs a semantic search to surface related articles even when they don't contain the exact words you typed.
Exact keyword matches always rank higher than semantic-only ones, and title matches rank above body-only matches.
Advanced search
Click Advanced... to expand extra filters:
- Category — narrow results to one KB category.
- Tags — filter by tags (start typing to pick from existing ones).
- Creation date / Updated — filter by date range.
- User — (technicians only) show articles by a specific author.
All filters are optional and work together. You can even leave the keyword box empty and search by filters alone.
Search results
Each result shows the article title (links to the article page), category, date, and tags. New or recently updated articles get a badge.
For administrators
End-user searches are logged — query text and result count — and show up in the KB report under Recent Searches. Handy for spotting what people are looking for and whether they're finding it.
Technicians can also use the User filter to find articles by a specific agent, combined with date filters to narrow things down.
